Facial Acupuncture

Facial acupuncture begins by working with the body to rectifying any internal imbalances in the energy flow. It is an effective, non-surgical, treatment for anti-ageing using hair thin disposable needles. It increases the circulation stimulating the collagen production within the skin’s layers in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Problem areas are addressed such as any redness of the skin, drooping eyelids or puffiness under the eyes. Facial acupuncture helps redefine the angles around the cheekbones and jaw line. It also helps to plump and hydrate the skin improving the appearance of fine lines and preventing any from forming. Acupressure is also applied on key points on the face around the jaw, forehead, temples and the eyes which help the skin to look firmer and more youthful.

This treatment is not just a facelift but treats the whole person. Many people notice other health benefits after the treatment including better sleep, more energy, reduced stress, and an overall sense of well being. The main intention of this treatment is for inner and outer beauty to be realized.

Is it safe?

There are none of the side-effects that would be expected in more invasive treatments such as Botox or surgical procedures.

There may be some slight bruising from needles but this disappears within a few days.

If you have high blood pressure, or taking any blood thinning medication, bruise or bleed easily this treatment may not be suitable.

Cellulite can be reduced by a technique called cupping. Cupping helps to improve circulation by moving the area of stagnation which in turn softens the appearance of cellulite. After the first treatment there is normally a noticeable difference. Cupping is described in more detail in Other Treatments
